PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

The U.S. Department of State designed the Exchange Visitor Program to promote a mutual understanding between the people of the United States and foreign nationals from all over the world by educational and cultural exchanges, under the provisions of U.S. law. Exchange Programs provide a great opportunity to experience the U.S. and the way of life, thereby developing lasting and meaningful relationships.  The U.S. Department of State's Exchange Visitor Program designates public and private entities to act as exchange sponsors. Designated sponsoring organizations facilitate the entry of foreign nationals into the U.S. as exchange visitors to complete the objectives of one of the wide variety of exchange visitor programs.

The United States States Hospitality and Tourism Academy (USHTA) is your official sponsor to participate on a J1 visa category (either as a Trainee or Intern). USHTA set standards of qualifications for the program participants to meet the qualifications designed by the Program Committee of the U.S. Department of State's Exchange Visitor Program.

USHTA is authorized to issue a DS-2019 "Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor (J1 Status), an official document to show the US Consulate during the J1 Visa interview at your local American Embassy in your country.

A Q1 is an alien coming temporarily to participate in an international cultural exchange program for sharing the attitude, customs, history, heritage, philosophy, and/or traditions of the alien's country of nationality.

The culture sharing must be take place in a school, museum, business, or other establishment where the public, or a segment of the public sharing a common cultural interest is exposed to aspects of a foreign culture as part of a structured program.

USHTA provides a variety of positions in the hospitality industry such as in Food Service, Front Office, Culinary, Housekeeping and theme parks at our reputable contract training properties across the United States.

We will have to make sure that your training with USHTA will be considered an exceptional, meet your expectations and something that you can be proud of by choosing to participate in our program itself.

By choosing USHTA as your sponsor, you will experience a valuable and easy going life in the United States during the program. USHTA will provide the following benefits (as applied if you're on stipend program):

  • Monthly stipend of $350.00
  • Fully furnished housing
  • Transportation to and from the training property
  • Transportation for weekly shopping
